About us

Canisamicus Foundation is a not-for-profit and the first of its kind in India, dedicated to service dog programs and Animal-Assisted Interventions (AAI). We believe dogs aren’t just companions—they’re healers, helpers, and game-changers. Inspired by the loyalty, intelligence, and heart of Labradors, we set out to shape a future where dogs and humans work together to make lives better.

Many of us at Canisamicus have been "raised by paws," growing up with dogs and experiencing firsthand the unbreakable human-canine bond. But turning that love into a world-class service dog program takes more than passion—it takes science, ethical breeding, and expert teamwork. That’s why we take a pack approach, bringing together clinical psychologists, developmental pediatricians, veterinary specialists, and ethologists to raise service dogs with both heart and working instinct.

Our work is overseen by an Institutional Animal Ethics Committee (IAEC) to ensure the highest standards in animal welfare, research, and responsible breeding. With science, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to the power of paws, Canisamicus is leading the way for service dogs in India—one wag at a time. 🐾
